About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support for departmental programs, projects, and day-to-day operations.
  • Perform general office duties including answering phones, screening calls, distributing mail, and operating office equipment.
  • Manage financial tasks such as processing travel reimbursements, producing purchase orders, and assigning charges to Oracle accounts.
  • Assist the business manager with budget development, expenditure monitoring, and monthly accounting reconciliations.
  • Maintain complex hard copy and electronic filing systems to ensure departmental records are up to date.
  • Provide clerical assistance and backup support to the Department Head and other administrative staff.
  • Ensure compliance with university, college, and department policies regarding procurement and accounting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of administrative support experience.
  • Strong organization, planning, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a higher education environment.
