About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day departmental administrative operations and serve as the primary point of contact for reception and inquiries.
- Coordinate meetings, manage calendars, handle correspondence, and oversee office logistics such as supply ordering.
- Prepare, process, and monitor administrative, operational, and financial documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Maintain and update departmental records in both electronic and manual systems, including databases and filing systems.
- Utilize computerized record-keeping systems to enter data and generate routine or ad hoc reports.
- Perform bookkeeping and financial support functions, including processing budget documents and monitoring financial activity.
- Act as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, and external partners to explain policies and resolve issues.
- Train and provide guidance to student employees and junior staff.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in business or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 2-3 years of relevant administrative experience.
- Proficiency in computerized information systems and standard PC-based software.
- Strong typing, word processing, and general writing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of university personnel and external constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with bookkeeping or accounting functions.
