About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Department Head and Faculty
- Operate PC software including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to type letters, forms, and reports
- Manage financial documentation including purchase requisitions, student contracts, check requests, and institutional vouchers
- Maintain organized filing systems for student academic files and departmental correspondence
- Track and follow up on payments to vendors and sub-awarding institutions for research grants
- Coordinate travel arrangements for faculty, staff, and students
- Manage office and lab equipment inventory and order supplies as needed
- Handle general inquiries via phone and assist in processing tuition payments and student payroll
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent, supplemented by typing and business secretarial courses
- Proven prior administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate standard office machinery such as copiers, fax machines, and calculators
