About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain written and electronic appointment schedules and calendars for medical personnel
- Provide word processing and typing services for complex medical documents and materials
- Manage reception responsibilities using knowledge of medical terminology
- Organize and maintain confidential electronic and paper filing systems
- Arrange small to mid-size formal and informal meetings and events
- Perform moderately complex billing and budgetary functions for multiple cost centers
- Provide functional supervision and leadership to lower-level clerical staff
- Ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the department office
Requirements
- Completion of Secondary School or recognized equivalent
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary medical administration certificate or equivalent
- Two years of related administrative support experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with EPIC EMR for managing referrals and scheduling
- Experience with online survey and research database tools such as REDCap
- Previous experience working within a healthcare environment
- Fluency in a second language, such as French
