About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform routine administrative support and technical program assistance under moderate supervision
- Disseminate information and maintain organized filing systems
- Answer, route, and take messages from incoming phone calls
- Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate staff members
- Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, and documents
- Perform data entry and maintain electronic or paper records
- Schedule and confirm appointments and manage event calendars
- Assist in compiling statistical data and preparing charts, graphs, or written summaries
- Order and dispense office supplies
- Arrange conference, meeting, or travel reservations for office personnel
- Review applications or forms for completeness and accuracy
- May supervise, train, or orient new clerical staff
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or college transcript
- One (1) year of experience in administrative support work
- Valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license
- Ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier
- Ability to work non-standard hours that do not coincide with a Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm workday
