About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial and clerical services to support administrative and professional personnel within the Medical Day Unit and Ambulatory Clinics.
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment booking for both in-person and virtual visits.
- Oversee patient chart management and maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
- Perform front desk responsibilities, including greeting patients and managing reception tasks.
- Maintain electronic calendars and provide support for small meetings or events.
- Exercise judgment to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing, high-volume clinic environment.
Requirements
- Completion of Secondary School or a recognized equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary medical or office administration certificate.
- Two years of related secretarial experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with the Epic health information system.
