About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including answering phones, responding to emails, and handling correspondence
  • Serve as the primary administrative contact for the Office of Research, facilitating communication between university units
  • Coordinate scheduling for meetings, appointments, research events, and committee sessions
  • Assist with the preparation, formatting, and submission of reports, grants, and internal documentation
  • Maintain centralized archives for grants, IRB/IACUC protocols, and departmental records
  • Support budget management by tracking expenditures and processing invoices, reimbursements, and purchasing requests
  • Manage event logistics for seminars and workshops, including space reservations, catering, and travel arrangements
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new research faculty and staff

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with budget tracking and financial processing
  • Proficiency in records management and maintaining organized databases
  • Strong skills in scheduling and calendar management
  • Ability to manage event logistics and departmental coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in business administration or office management
  • At least two years of administrative experience in an academic, medical, or professional office environment
  • Familiarity with veterinary medicine or academic research settings
  • Experience supporting research offices or grant-related functions
  • Proficiency with budgeting, purchasing, and procurement systems
