About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to academic faculty leadership and assist with course management, study abroad, and travel funds
- Prepare and distribute internal communications, including student newsletters and digital recognitions
- Support student organizations with purchasing and event organization
- Coordinate departmental academic events from planning through execution, including commencement, symposia, and orientations
- Manage event logistics, timelines, budgeted spending, and vendor relationships
- Maintain purchasing card (P-Card) responsibilities and assist with expense tracking and reimbursements
- Serve as the primary contact for departmental travel bookings for guests, faculty, and students
Requirements
- High school diploma required (Associate degree in business administration or related field strongly preferred)
- 3–5 years of relevant administrative or event experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Adobe applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail
- Successful background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education environment
- Previous experience in professional event coordination
