About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to academic faculty leadership and assist with course management, study abroad, and travel funds
  • Prepare and distribute internal communications, including student newsletters and digital recognitions
  • Support student organizations with purchasing and event organization
  • Coordinate departmental academic events from planning through execution, including commencement, symposia, and orientations
  • Manage event logistics, timelines, budgeted spending, and vendor relationships
  • Maintain purchasing card (P-Card) responsibilities and assist with expense tracking and reimbursements
  • Serve as the primary contact for departmental travel bookings for guests, faculty, and students

Requirements

  • High school diploma required (Associate degree in business administration or related field strongly preferred)
  • 3–5 years of relevant administrative or event experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Adobe applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail
  • Successful background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Previous experience in professional event coordination
