Adjunctive Therapist

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and directs therapeutic recreational/creative programs and interventions for patients
• Develops specific adjunctive therapy treatment goals and interventions to meet the needs of patients
• Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team to determine total treatment plans
• Conducts therapy sessions using recreational/creative methods such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques
• Observes, analyzes, and records patients’ participation, reactions, and progress
• Encourages patients with behavioral health and special needs to acquire new skills and healthy leisure activities
• Keeps current on advances in research and therapeutic resources

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year experience in Adjunctive Therapy field working in behavioral healthcare
• Music Therapist: Bachelors from AMTA accredited program, MT-BC credential, or LPMT licensure
• Recreation Therapist: Bachelors from NCTRC accredited program, CTRS credential
• Art Therapist: Masters from AATA accredited program, ATR-BC credential
• Dance/Movement Therapist: Masters from ADTA accredited program or Alternate Route, R-DMT or BC-DMT credential
• Drama Therapist: Masters from NADTA accredited program or Alternative Training, current RDT credential
• Basic knowledge of human behavior and performance
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries
