Adjunct - Theatre Arts

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to undergraduate and graduate students through lectures, labs, or performance courses
• Assess and develop students' cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher-order thinking skills through various assignments and activities
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills
• Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes
• Plan and organize instruction in alignment with department and university mission and goals
• Maintain accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, academic progress, and student learning outcomes
• Evaluate and select instructional materials such as textbooks, manuals, and software

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience and recognition
• Knowledge of current theory and practice within the theatre arts discipline
• Demonstrated understanding of effective teaching principles and best practices
• Ability to deliver course curricula to various learning styles
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students
