About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach courses within the Department of Humanities, including English, History, and Philosophy.
- Instruct various subjects such as first- and second-year composition, undergraduate first-year success seminars, and critical thinking.
- Deliver curriculum for Introduction to African American history and General Education literature courses.
- Ensure excellence in curriculum delivery, development, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Philosophy, English literature, rhetoric and composition, American history, or a closely related field.
- Evidence of scholarship and teaching experience within the Humanities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Availability for in-person teaching at Central State University.
- Expertise in sub-fields such as environmental humanities, legal studies, or medical humanities.
- Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to integrate technology into instruction and student advising.
- Demonstrated commitment to the role of a comprehensive college in a multicultural setting.
