About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate literacy courses within the Dwight Schar College of Education
- Emphasize the Science of Reading and structured literacy practices in all instruction
- Demonstrate expertise in explicit, systematic phonics instruction and evidence-based literacy practices
- Prepare future educators to implement effective literacy instruction aligned with current research and best practices
Requirements
- Master’s degree (M.Ed.) in Literacy Education or a closely related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of PK–12 classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated training in structured literacy (e.g., LETRS, Heggerty, UFLI, or similar programs)
- Ability to teach in person during the day
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with curriculum development
- Experience teaching literacy methods courses at the collegiate level
- Experience providing literacy coaching in PK–12 settings
