About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate literacy courses within the Dwight Schar College of Education
  • Emphasize the Science of Reading and structured literacy practices in all instruction
  • Demonstrate expertise in explicit, systematic phonics instruction and evidence-based literacy practices
  • Prepare future educators to implement effective literacy instruction aligned with current research and best practices

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (M.Ed.) in Literacy Education or a closely related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of PK–12 classroom teaching experience
  • Demonstrated training in structured literacy (e.g., LETRS, Heggerty, UFLI, or similar programs)
  • Ability to teach in person during the day

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Experience teaching literacy methods courses at the collegiate level
  • Experience providing literacy coaching in PK–12 settings
