Adjunct Licensed Vocational Nursing Faculty

Responsibilities

• Teach vocational nursing theory and skills in classroom, lab, and clinical settings
• Supervise students in didactic, clinical, and skills lab environments
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing curriculum and student learning outcomes
• Assist with program operations, including scheduling, lab management, and curriculum development
• Oversee student orientation and clinical assignments across main and satellite campuses
• Ensure compliance with all standards set by the Texas Board of Nursing
• Build and maintain positive relationships with civic and healthcare organizations
• Support student recruitment, advising, and graduation processes

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered RN license or privilege to practice in Texas
• Associate’s degree or diploma from a hospital-based nursing school
• Recent nursing employment within the last three years or advanced preparation in nursing, education, or administration
• Proficiency in computer use and fluency in English
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge of safety practices in the teaching area

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing
• Experience teaching nursing courses at a community college or university
• Experience working with or precepting nursing students in clinical settings
• Familiarity with online management systems like Canvas
• Proficiency with Microsoft software, including Word and PowerPoint
