Adjunct Lecturer in Double Bass

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly applied double bass studio classes and individual lessons to undergraduate and graduate students
• Instruct courses such as orchestral repertoire, bass ensemble, and chamber music based on departmental needs
• Participate in the assessment of studio juries and MM/DMA capstone recital juries
• Evaluate audition materials for prospective students seeking admission
• Develop and implement strategies to recruit new students and grow the double bass program
• Maintain an active presence in the department by attending performances, faculty recitals, and meetings

Requirements

• Master’s degree in double bass performance (significant national/international performance experience and a distinguished teaching resume may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level
• Professional distinction as a performing artist
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to building a diverse and connected learning community

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of teaching experience at an accredited higher education institution
