Adjunct Instructor, Theology & Religious Studies

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned theology courses or lead theology discussion groups as mentors on a semester-by-semester basis
• Provide a supportive, student-centered learning environment and facilitate effective student learning
• Adhere to course curricula, methods, practices, and lesson plans developed by the Department of Theology
• Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback on homework, quizzes, and exams
• Maintain regular availability to meet with students, including holding regular office hours outside of scheduled class time
• Utilize online learning systems and network resources to manage assignments, communication, and grading

Requirements

• Ph.D. in theology, religious studies, or a related field
• Master’s degree in theology, religious studies, or a related field
• Demonstrated teaching or instructional experience
• Proficiency with educational technology, including Microsoft Office and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas)
• Commitment to inclusive excellence and the ability to work effectively with diverse students and faculty

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching undergraduate theology or religious studies courses
