Adjunct Instructor, Theology & Religious Studies

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned theology courses or lead theology discussion groups as mentors on a semester-by-semester basis
• Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate effective student learning
• Adhere to course curricula, methods, practices, and lesson plans developed by the Department of Theology
• Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback, including homework, quizzes, and exams
• Maintain regular availability to meet with students through scheduled office hours
• Utilize online learning systems and network resources for communication, grading, and assignment management
• Participate in department orientation and required trainings

Requirements

• Ph.D. in theology, religious studies, or a related field
• Master’s degree in theology, religious studies, or a related field
• Demonstrated teaching or instructional experience
• Proficiency with educational technology, including Microsoft Office and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas)
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching and diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching undergraduate theology or religious studies courses
