About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare, plan, and teach assigned courses related to Washington State teacher certification
- Create and evaluate student assignments and submit grades according to established deadlines
- Utilize Canvas to organize course content, communicate with students, and manage assignments
- Collaborate with the department chair and program director on curriculum development and key assessments
- Mentor and support preservice teachers in developing professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions
Requirements
- Master's or doctoral degree in education or a related disciplinary field
- 5–7 years of K-12 teaching experience
- Specialized expertise in K-12 educational practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience at the university level
- K-12 teacher certification (Elementary, Secondary, or Washington Endorsement areas)
- Experience in a supervisory or administrative role within a K-12 educational system
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality educational experiences to a diverse student population
