Adjunct Instructor, Speech Communication

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Speech Communication courses in a face-to-face format for the Fall 2026 semester.
• Deliver instruction in accordance with established course competencies and syllabi.
• Utilize diverse instructional strategies and delivery methods to accommodate various student learning styles.
• Foster a safe, civil, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Communicate course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies clearly to students.
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment.

Requirements

• Master of Speech or Communications, or a Master's degree with at least 12 graduate semester credits in Speech Communication.
• Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse populations, including individuals from varied cultures and backgrounds.
• Ability to teach at Des Moines Metro campus locations and the Boone Campus.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience in a higher education setting.
