About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned Speech Communication courses in a face-to-face format for the Fall 2026 semester.
- Deliver instruction in accordance with established course competencies and syllabi.
- Utilize diverse instructional strategies and delivery methods to accommodate various student learning styles.
- Foster a safe, civil, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Communicate course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies clearly to students.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment.
Requirements
- Master of Speech or Communications, or a Master's degree with at least 12 graduate semester credits in Speech Communication.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse populations, including individuals from varied cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to teach at Des Moines Metro campus locations and the Boone Campus.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience in a higher education setting.
