Adjunct Instructor, Spanish

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned introductory and intermediate Spanish courses using evidence-based instruction practices
• Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate effective student learning
• Adhere to course curricula, methods, and lesson plans developed by the Department
• Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback on homework, quizzes, and exams
• Utilize online learning systems and network resources for communication and grading
• Maintain regular availability for student meetings by holding scheduled office hours

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Spanish language or a related field
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
• Demonstrated ability to teach college-level Spanish within a communicative, proficiency-oriented framework
• Proficiency in using educational technology, including Microsoft Office and learning management systems like Canvas

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching intermediate undergraduate Spanish courses at a U.S. college or university
• Demonstrated ability to teach Spanish heritage speakers
• Familiarity with the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines

Benefits

• Compensation is provided on a per-semester basis ($1,400 per credit hour or $4,200 per 3-credit lecture class)
• This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position
