About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned sociology courses in a face-to-face format at the Ankeny Campus.
  • Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse student learning styles.
  • Foster a safe, civil, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Inform students of course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment.

Requirements

  • Master of Sociology or a Master's degree with at least 12 graduate semester credits in Sociology.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to teach face-to-face classes during daytime hours (Monday–Thursday).
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience in a higher education setting.
