About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver instruction for undergraduate courses within the Department of Kinesiology.
- Cover diverse subject areas including exercise science, physical education teacher preparation, recreation administration, first aid, and fitness activities.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans and adhere to the faculty handbook and departmental guidelines.
- Meet all scheduled class times and maintain required attendance records.
- Submit grades, attendance, and other required academic paperwork in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours of coursework in Kinesiology.
- Specialized instructor certifications may be required for specific activity courses (e.g., yoga, martial arts, scuba, or WSI).
- Ability to comply with FERPA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of student records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Professional experience in specific subject matter areas such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, pedagogy, or sport management.
