Adjunct Instructor of Voice

Responsibilities

• Teach applied voice lessons to undergraduate music majors and non-majors
• Prepare students for recitals, juries, and performances
• Teach academic music courses such as Music History, Literature, and Diction
• Mentor students in vocal development, repertoire selection, and performance practice
• Assist students with audition preparation and professional development
• Participate in departmental meetings, student juries, and recitals
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment
• Support student recruitment, retention, and mentoring

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Voice Performance, Voice Pedagogy, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in teaching applied voice
• Strong knowledge of vocal technique and standard vocal repertoire
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Music
• College-level teaching experience
• Experience teaching diction (e.g., Italian, German, French, or English lyric diction)
• Experience working with diverse vocal styles and student populations
• Familiarity with standard vocal literature and performance practices
