Adjunct Instructor of Spanish

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses including Elementary Spanish I, Intermediate Spanish I, or Spanish & Latin American Film.
• Deliver engaging, inclusive, and effective instruction using student-centered and communicative pedagogical approaches.
• Design syllabi, course materials, assessments, and learning activities aligned with departmental outcomes.
• Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Hold limited office hours and foster a supportive learning environment for a diverse student body.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field (must be completed by the start date).
• Demonstrated proficiency in both Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching Spanish and/or Hispanic Studies at the college level.
• Ability to teach upper-division courses in literature, culture, linguistics, film, or history.
• Experience using communicative and proficiency-based language teaching methods.
• Demonstrated commitment to high-impact, student-centered pedagogical practices and inclusive teaching.
