Adjunct Instructor of Biology

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned biology, health, or closely related courses, including lecture and/or laboratory sections.
• Develop course syllabi, learning activities, and assessments based on provided course outcomes.
• Model current best practices in teaching and provide timely feedback to students.
• Support student understanding outside of class through in-person or virtual interactions.
• Maintain course websites to ensure accessibility for all students.
• Submit mid-semester and end-of-course grades and electronic gradebooks in a timely manner.
• Promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University.
• Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education and uphold university employment standards.

Requirements

• For lecture-based courses: Graduate degree (M.S., Ph.D., Ed.D.) in biology or a related field; or a graduate degree in education with a B.S. and relevant work experience.
• For laboratory sections: B.S. or B.A. from an accredited college in a related area.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Commitment to the Christian mission and values of the university.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in a relevant field.
• Previous college teaching experience, particularly at a small private Christian institution.
• Experience teaching in online or varying modalities.
• Ability to effectively educate and mentor traditional students.
