About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned upper-division neurobiology courses using evidence-based instruction practices
- Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate effective student learning
- Adhere to course curricula, methods, and lesson plans developed by the Department of Biology
- Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback on homework, quizzes, and exams
- Maintain regular availability to meet with students through scheduled office hours
- Utilize online learning systems and network resources for communication and grading tasks
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters, Ph.D., or D.P.T.) or professional experience in a relevant field
- Instructional or teaching experience
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student-centered learning
- Familiarity with evidence-based pedagogical techniques
- Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Banner)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching undergraduate neurobiology courses
Benefits
- This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position
- Compensation is provided on a per-semester basis ($1,400 per credit hour or equivalent)
