About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned upper-division neurobiology courses using evidence-based instruction practices
- Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate effective student learning
- Adhere to course curricula, methods, and lesson plans developed by the Department of Biology
- Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback on homework, quizzes, and exams
- Maintain regular availability to meet with students through scheduled office hours
- Utilize online learning systems to assign coursework, communicate with students, and manage grading
Requirements
- Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, PhD, or DPT) in a relevant field
- Previous instructional or teaching experience
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student-centered pedagogy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with or ability to learn Moodle and Banner learning/course management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching undergraduate neurobiology courses
