Adjunct Instructor, Molecular Biology

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned molecular biology courses, including lectures or labs, using evidence-based instruction practices.
• Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate effective student learning in subjects such as genetics, microbiology, and immunology.
• Adhere to course curricula, methods, and lesson plans as developed by the Department of Biology.
• Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback on homework, quizzes, and exams.
• Maintain regular availability to meet with students through scheduled office hours.
• Utilize online learning systems and network resources to manage assignments, communication, and grading.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, PhD, or DPT) or professional experience in a relevant field.
• Instructional or teaching experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices and evidence-based pedagogical techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, or Banner).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching undergraduate courses in genetics, cell and molecular biology, microbiology, and/or immunology.

Benefits

• This is a part-time adjunct position; it is not eligible for benefits.
• Compensation is provided on a per-semester basis ($1,400 per credit hour or equivalent).
