Adjunct Instructor for Social Sciences and Sociology

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned lower and upper division courses in social sciences and sociology on the traditional or evening Professional and Graduate Studies campus.
• Model current best practices in teaching and demonstrate a commitment to sound pedagogical practices.
• Provide prompt and thorough feedback to students via the University Learning Management System.
• Communicate clearly with students regarding instruction and feedback availability outside of regular class hours.
• Work collegially with faculty, staff, and students to support the University Strategic Plan.
• Uphold the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University.
• Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education and abide by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.

Requirements

• Graduate degree with coursework in the field of instruction (including areas such as Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, Counseling, or Government).
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Commitment to the mission and Christian identity of Warner Pacific University.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in the field of instruction.
• Professional experience in the relevant field.
• Previous college-level teaching experience in a relevant curriculum.
