About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned chemistry courses, including lecture and laboratory sections (e.g., Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Introduction to Chemistry)
- Mentor students and provide prompt, thorough feedback to support their academic growth
- Model best practices in teaching using sound pedagogical and andragogical methods
- Communicate clearly with students regarding instruction and feedback availability outside of class hours
- Work collegially with the Dean, faculty, staff, and students
- Promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University
- Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education and uphold the university's Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement
Requirements
- Graduate degree in chemistry or education/teaching
- Ability to teach both lecture and laboratory sections
- Commitment to the mission and Christian identity of Warner Pacific University
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry
- Professional experience in the field of Chemistry
- Previous college-level teaching experience in a relevant curriculum
- Experience working with diverse student populations
