About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned chemistry courses, including lecture and laboratory sections, such as Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Introduction to Chemistry.
- Mentor students and provide prompt, thorough feedback to support their academic growth.
- Communicate clearly regarding instruction availability and feedback outside of regular course hours.
- Work collegially with the Dean, faculty, staff, and students.
- Promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education and adhere to the university's Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.
- Exhibit commitment to inclusiveness and sensitivity regarding national origin, ethnicity, culture, gender, and disabilities.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in chemistry or education/teaching.
- Commitment to a Christian liberal arts education and the university's mission.
- Ability to work on the traditional campus in Portland, OR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry.
- Professional experience in the field of Chemistry.
- Previous college-level teaching experience in a relevant curriculum.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
