Adjunct Instructor, Fashion Design

Responsibilities

• Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars in Fashion Design
• Evaluate student coursework and provide academic guidance
• Collaborate with other faculty members on multi-section courses
• Respond to University-related communications in a timely manner
• Support the mission of the Myron Ullman, Jr. School of Design through professional instruction

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or a closely related field and a minimum of 5 years industry experience OR a Master’s Degree in Fashion Design or a closely related field
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students
• Ability to work and collaborate with individuals across the department, school, and University

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise across the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Proficiency in drawing technical flat sketches using Adobe Illustrator
• Experience developing digital mood and concept boards
• Contemporary knowledge of fashion design portfolio development and presentation
