Adjunct Instructor - Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in EMS courses according to established curriculum and learning objectives
• Teach in classroom, lab, and/or clinical environments as assigned
• Assess student learning and performance through assignments, exams, skills check-offs, and practical evaluations
• Ensure compliance with state and national EMS education standards
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
• Participate in program meetings, training, and professional development
• Stay current with EMS practices, protocols, and instructional strategies

Requirements

• Current certification/licensure as a State of Florida Paramedic
• Associate’s degree in a health-related field
• State of Florida EMS Level A & B certifications
• AHA Basic Life Support Provider and Instructor certifications
• Minimum of 4 years of field experience as a Paramedic
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Prior teaching or training experience in EMS education
• Experience with simulation-based instruction and assessment
• Familiarity with online or hybrid learning platforms like Canvas or Moodle
• Knowledge of CoAEMSP accreditation standards
