Adjunct Instructor, Dental Hygiene

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned dental hygiene courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi
• Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse student learning styles
• Foster a safe and civil learning environment for all students
• Inform students regarding course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor’s degree
• 3 years of non-teaching related clinical work experience
• Registered Dental Hygienist license (or ability to obtain Iowa Dental Hygienist license prior to employment)
• BLS CPR Certified Healthcare Provider

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field or current enrollment in a related master’s degree program
• Previous teaching experience
• Clinical work experience specifically for teaching in Didactic courses in DHY
