Adjunct Instructor, Criminal Justice

Responsibilities

• Teach the "Crime in America" course at the Schaumburg campus during the Fall 2026 semester
• Instruct students on crime problems from a historical perspective, focusing on social, political, and economic factors
• Guide students through reviews of crime trends, prevention efforts, and the evolution of criminal behavior explanations
• Provide academic support by aiding and correcting student work during class time and on homework assignments
• Maintain availability for scheduled office hours to support student success

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a relevant field
• 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Expertise in Criminal Justice theory and application
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with Blackboard learning management system

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience teaching Criminal Justice specifically at the college level
• Proven experience working with first-generation college students
