About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach the "Crime in America" course at the Schaumburg campus during the Fall 2026 semester
- Instruct students on crime problems from a historical perspective, focusing on social, political, and economic factors
- Guide students through reviews of crime trends, prevention efforts, and the evolution of criminal behavior explanations
- Provide academic support by aiding and correcting student work during class time and on homework assignments
- Maintain availability for scheduled office hours to support student success
Requirements
- Master's Degree in a relevant field
- 1-2 years of teaching experience
- Expertise in Criminal Justice theory and application
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with Blackboard learning management system
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience teaching Criminal Justice specifically at the college level
- Proven experience working with first-generation college students
