Adjunct Instructor, Composition

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate courses, primarily first-year English and developmental writing.
• Create curricula or utilize model curricula provided by the department.
• Evaluate student coursework using best practices.
• Utilize the Canvas course management system for instruction and communication.
• Hold regular office hours and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
• Participate in at least one professional development workshop per year and assist with writing program assessment.

Requirements

• Master's degree (or higher) in Rhetoric and Composition or a closely related field.
• At least one year of teaching experience in a college setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. or ABD in Rhetoric and Composition.
• Experience teaching first-year college writing or developmental writing.
• Experience working with first-generation and/or non-traditional students.
