Adjunct Instructor, Communication and Media Studies

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned communication or media courses using evidence-based instruction practices
• Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate effective student learning
• Adhere to course curricula, methods, and lesson plans developed by the Department
• Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback
• Maintain regular availability to meet with students through scheduled office hours
• Utilize online learning systems to assign homework, communicate with students, and manage grading

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Teaching or instructional experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle or Canvas

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field
• Experience teaching undergraduate courses

Benefits

• Compensation is provided on a per-semester basis ($1,400 per credit hour or $4,200 per 3-credit lecture class)
• This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position
