About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned communication or media courses using evidence-based instruction practices
- Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate effective student learning
- Adhere to course curricula, methods, and lesson plans developed by the Department
- Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback
- Maintain regular availability to meet with students through scheduled office hours
- Utilize online learning systems to assign homework, communicate with students, and manage grading
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Teaching or instructional experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle or Canvas
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant field
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses
Benefits
- Compensation is provided on a per-semester basis ($1,400 per credit hour or $4,200 per 3-credit lecture class)
- This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position
