Adjunct Instructor, Astronomy

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned astronomy courses in accordance with established course competencies and syllabi
• Develop and utilize diverse instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet various student learning styles
• Foster a safe, civil, and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Inform students regarding course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, academic progress, and competency attainment

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Astronomy, OR a Master’s degree with at least 12 graduate hours in science (of which 6 graduate hours must be in Astronomy or Astrophysics)
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience in a higher education setting
