Requirements
Master’s degree in Astronomy, or Master’s degree with 12 graduate hours in science, 6 graduate hours must be in Astronomy or Astrophysics, Ability to maintain professional relationships
About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned astronomy courses in accordance with established course competencies and syllabi
- Develop and utilize diverse instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet various student learning styles
- Foster a safe, civil, and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Inform students regarding course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, academic progress, and competency attainment
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Astronomy, OR a Master’s degree with at least 12 graduate hours in science (of which 6 graduate hours must be in Astronomy or Astrophysics)
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience in a higher education setting
