Adjunct Instructor - Art Appreciation

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for students enrolled in Art Appreciation courses at the Sam Houston State University Campus
• Teach courses as scheduled and actively engage students in the learning process
• Maintain ethical and professional behavior in all instructional duties
• Attend adjunct faculty meetings and participate in departmental activities
• Assess courses at both departmental and institutional levels
• Complete required training, including Blackboard Online Instructor Certification, Title IX, and FERPA
• Utilize teaching and learning resources to continually improve professional knowledge and pedagogical skills
• Adhere to all policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT manuals

Requirements

• Master's degree in Humanities/Fine Arts, or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Humanities/Fine Arts
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated knowledge of teaching methodologies and pedagogical strategies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching in a higher education environment
• Doctorate degree in the subject area
• Relevant field and/or industry certifications
