About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide weekly one-on-one applied instruction to music majors, minors, and non-majors in voice, piano, or flute
- Prepare students for juries, recitals, ensemble performances, and other performance opportunities
- Maintain regular communication with students regarding progress, goals, and expectations
- Collaborate with ensemble directors and other faculty to support student performance within the department
- Submit grades according to established deadlines
- Lead a weekly studio voice class (for applied voice positions)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Music
- Experience teaching applied lessons in voice, piano, or flute
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and ability to respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds
- Experience teaching college-age musicians
- For applied piano, the ability to accompany instrumentalists in their recitals and juries
