Adjunct Instructor, Applied AI Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead in-person class sessions for 25-75 college students at Fisk University
• Deliver engaging instruction on generative models, LLMs, and multimodal systems using provided curriculum
• Manage teaching assistants to ensure students receive appropriate academic support
• Collaborate with the Program Manager and university faculty to ensure curriculum alignment
• Use student feedback to propose curriculum improvements and meet program KPIs
• Participate in regular instructor syncs and pre-course training sessions

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field
• 4+ years of full-time professional experience in software engineering or development
• Proficiency with Python
• Strong working knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, and modern AI-assisted development workflows
• Availability to lead lectures during the Fall 2026 academic term (Mondays/Wednesdays 2:30pm-3:50pm ET)
• Ability to meet with teaching assistants once per week outside of scheduled class time

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of instructional experience with a demonstrated track record of educational excellence
• Experience with open source development practices and managing large codebases
• Experience teaching in educational, volunteer, or professional work settings
