Adjunct Instructor – Advanced Photography

Responsibilities

• Teach one section of ART 345: Advanced Photography in Spring 2027
• Provide instruction in advanced camera techniques, lighting, composition, and RAW workflow
• Instruct advanced image editing using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
• Lead critiques using clear artistic and technical vocabulary
• Coordinate out-of-classroom photography shoots, including possible off-campus and event shoots
• Support students in developing a cohesive final portfolio and artist statement
• Maintain regular communication, timely assessment, and accurate academic records
• Hold regular office hours

Requirements

• MFA in Photography, Studio Art, or a closely related field OR a Bachelor’s degree with significant professional experience
• Demonstrated expertise in DSLR photography, manual exposure, and RAW processing
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
• Experience teaching or mentoring students at the college or advanced secondary level
• Strong commitment to inclusive, respectful, and student-centered pedagogy
• Must reside in Pennsylvania or Maryland for employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience in event photography or commercial photographic practice
• Experience teaching critiques and portfolio development
• Familiarity with both DSLR and mobile photography workflows
