Adjunct Instructor - Academic Success Experience

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver instruction within the Academic Success Experience (ASE) program.
• Prepare and present lessons based on department rubrics and follow designated course syllabi.
• Manage classroom behavior and address individual student needs effectively.
• Maintain regular office hours and provide scheduled meeting times for student support.
• Submit all required paperwork, including syllabi, grades, evaluations, and contracts, by established deadlines.
• Adhere to the faculty handbook, university policies, and FERPA regulations regarding student records.
• Participate in department, school, and university-wide activities and tasks.

Requirements

• Must be a current full-time Texas Wesleyan University employee.
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred).
• Knowledge of time management, organizational strategies, and college-level study skills.
• Ability to work effectively with university personnel and diverse student populations.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
• Experience working with diverse student groups.
• Knowledge of various learning styles and test-taking preparation strategies.
