Adjunct History Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned history courses as specified in the schedule and course contract
• Prepare comprehensive course materials, lesson plans, and approved syllabi
• Deliver course content using a variety of engaging teaching styles and real-world applications
• Use the College’s learning management system to post materials and communicate with students
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing timely feedback
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, assessments, and grades
• Be available for student consultation through office hours or scheduled appointments
• Meet with the Dean or Program Chair to discuss student progress and curriculum development

Requirements

• Master's degree in the teaching field, or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to use technology effectively in a teaching environment
• Ability to work with learners from diverse educational and multicultural backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience at the college level
• Experience teaching in a fully online or hybrid format
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching adult learners
