About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach Life Skills and Work Skills courses for the Tartan TOPS program
  • Plan and organize instruction to maximize learning for students with intellectual disabilities
  • Prepare and provide syllabi in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student information

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the content area or a related field
  • Experience working with students with disabilities
  • Experience working with students in internship settings
  • Proficiency in modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience
