Adjunct Faculty - School of Science and Engineering

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in disciplines such as biology, chemistry, environmental health science, mathematics, data science, computer science, engineering, or physics.
• Convene in-person or virtual office hours to provide supplemental instructional support and advising to students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and the assessment of student learning outcomes.
• Engage in professional development and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in community service or outreach programs.

Requirements

• Earned master’s degree in the teaching discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in that discipline.
• Professional work experience in the specific discipline.
• Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning environments.
• Commitment to excellence in college teaching and working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity.
• Demonstrated collegiality and a sound work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of teaching experience in higher education.
• Proven record of teaching effectiveness.
• Experience with learning management systems and online teaching/learning platforms.
• Familiarity with implementing courses using Open Educational Resources (OER).
