Adjunct Faculty, Principles of Sociology

Responsibilities

• Prepare meaningful lectures and class activities for Principles of Sociology
• Teach course content while helping English Language Learners develop their English language skills
• Create a syllabus and assessment activities that meet university requirements and learning outcomes
• Use Canvas and other technologies to enhance student learning
• Address student questions in a timely and helpful manner
• Attend faculty meetings and submit grades and assessment materials by stated deadlines
• Support and follow University and BUSCA Program policies and procedures

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Sociology, Education, or a related field
• Experience or training working with English Language Learners
• Ability to teach in person on the Philadelphia campus during evening hours (6:15-9:00 PM)

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field
• Experience teaching Sociology or other social sciences
