About the role
Responsibilities
- Engage in instructional activities including classroom, laboratory, or hybrid/online instruction for undergraduate and graduate students
- Prepare teaching materials, write syllabi, and maintain competence in physics subject matter
- Assess student performance through written examinations, papers, presentations, and projects
- Provide timely feedback on coursework and manage grading within established timeframes
- Confer with students regarding course materials and direct individual or group studies
- Provide academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities
- Maintain professional and ethical conduct in all interactions with students, colleagues, and administrators
Requirements
- Master's degree or doctorate in Physics
- Strong commitment to quality teaching and student achievement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with Blackboard or a similar Learning Management System (LMS)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and practice inclusive pedagogy
- Ability to travel between campuses and work evenings or weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous college-level teaching experience
- Familiarity with educational assessment practices
