Adjunct Faculty, Philosophy

Responsibilities

• Engage in instructional activities including classroom teaching, preparing teaching materials, and writing syllabi
• Deliver courses within the Applied Liberal Arts Department, focusing on philosophy, ethics, and logic
• Assess student performance through reviewing written examinations, papers, presentations, and projects
• Provide academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities
• Maintain regular communication with students via email and provide timely feedback on coursework
• Complete administrative tasks such as submitting grades, attendance verification, and academic alerts

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Philosophy
• At least two years of college-level teaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong knowledge of ethics, logic, reasoning, and critical thinking
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience working with Blackboard or a similar Learning Management System (LMS)
• Ability to teach in-person at the Owings Mills, MD campus

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Philosophy
• Demonstrated ability to practice inclusive pedagogy and work with diverse student populations
