About the role
Responsibilities
- Instruct and evaluate students in classroom, nursing laboratory, or clinical settings
- Supervise and maintain laboratories and equipment when teaching in the nursing lab
- Evaluate student learning in clinical settings using standard departmental evaluation tools
- Attend required clinical agency orientations and Department of Nursing adjunct orientations
- Adhere to all Department of Nursing policies and procedures
- Participate in end-of-course program reports and evaluations
- Attend professional workshops as required by the department
Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing (required)
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Valid and unencumbered RN license in Maryland or a compact state
- Ability to meet health credential requirements for clinical settings
- Excellent written, oral, and teaching skills
- Ability to communicate with and teach a diverse population of students
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in nursing
- Prior college or university teaching experience
- Evidence of expertise appropriate to a specific teaching specialty area
