Adjunct Faculty: Nurse Aide

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction and training for aspiring nurse aides in essential clinical skills and knowledge
• Offer competent student advising and support to help students succeed
• Assist with refining, modernizing, and developing curriculum to meet high educational standards
• Utilize alternative delivery technology, including online platforms, for lecture and laboratory instruction
• Maintain professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external agencies
• Participate in college committees, community service, and professional development as assigned

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing or LPN status
• Minimum of 2,000 hours of experience caring for the elderly or chronically ill
• Evidence of prior teaching or training experience in health occupation related areas
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain within three months of hire)
• Ability to hold or qualify for a post-secondary vocational credential in Health Occupations
• Demonstrated competence in teaching adult learners or completion of a "Train the Trainer" program

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Experience in a community college teaching environment
• Experience with curriculum writing and alternative delivery instruction
• Five or more years of patient-oriented nursing experience
• Proficiency with computer applications including Word, PowerPoint, and D2L
